From Barbara Bond Jagy, daughter of Alice McKay Bond and Floyd King Bond. A database of the images, "../0-Info-bj2", is in the top directory of this image hierarchy and is described there. File names and identifiers used below refer to this database. Five photographs, sent by Barbara Bond Jagy, were gang scanned by Photographic Works, Tucson, Arizona, at a resolution judged appropriate for the size and quality of the photos. The scanner output was saved as a tiff file, of 600 ppi, RGB color, file size about 96 mbytes. The gang-scan image is in the file ./scans/600dpi_color.tif. Five individual images were separated from the gang scan and saved as RGB-color psd-format files, ./splits-orig/*.psd. The individual images ./splits-orig/*.psd were renamed to accord with the usual database format, converted to grayscale (8 bit) if the photos were not color (001, 004, 005), rotated and cropped if necessary, adjusted for contrast (autolevels) and sharpened, and saved as psd files, in "./splits-1". A noise filter was applied to one image: dust and scratches (005). The psd format image files of directory "./splits-1" were converted to high-quality (8) jpg images, saved in "./splits-1-jpg". The directories "./splits" and "./splits-jpg" are symlinked to the above two directories. A web photo gallery, under "./photogallery/", was created as described in the top directory. Two more photographs were sent subsequently and scanned, on august 12, 2005. See the directory, "/store-no_backup/jar/images/other/050812", for information on the gang scan and its decomposition. These two images were added, after renaming, as tiff files to ./splits-orig/, and after correction for noise and sharpening, as tiff files to ./splits-1/, and after conversion to quality 8 jpeg format, as jpeg files to ./splits-1-jpg. Information on the two files was added as records in the database ../0-Info-bj2, and 0-Info-bj2-short was remade. The photogallery was then remade.
